Carry On My Wayward Son Daughter

7:58 PMHeather

Cause I feel wayward...weary...in the desert.

Then I said to you, "Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place." Deuteronomy 1:29-31

I love this verse. It reminds me of this moment, on a hike during our adventures on the road to Hana in Maui.

My baby girl was overwhelmed by the long, hot, tiring journey. Exhausted, she finally let her Daddy carry her all the way--until they reached this place.

Caris was tired and hot and thirsty--completely weary. She just couldn't go on. Despite the promise of a lush, cool waterfall at the end, she could not press on.

I'm so thankful my Abba Father has big shoulders. Think I'll climb up and hold on tight.
